Troy Hayden is an Emmy-winning American news anchor and reporter best known for his long career in television journalism in Phoenix, Arizona. He is currently a weekday evening news anchor at 12 News (KPNX-TV) in Phoenix. Before that, he spent about 30 years at FOX 10 Arizona (KSAZ-TV), where he became a well-known on-air personality.
Earlier, Hayden attended and graduated from Sacramento State University and started his media career as a sports writer at the Sacramento Bee. Moreover, Hayden is a five-time Emmy winner of ”Best Anchor. He was named Anchor of the Year by the Associated Press. Besides that, he has also been named the ”Best 10 pm Anchor” and ”Best Live Reporter” by Phoenix Magazine and Phoenix New Times respectively.
He gained a national audience during the Jodi Arias murder trial, where he provided months of Local and Fox News Channel reports. Hayden also conducted an exclusive interview with Arias moments after her guilty verdict was made public.
Troy is a certified scuba diver and conducts operations with underwater and swift water search and rescue agencies. Notably, he went more than 100 feet underground to explore the deepest drug tunnel discovered by the US Border Patrol team.
He has flown an F-16 fighter jet over the Barry Goldwater bombing range. In addition, Troy spent three days under the sea on the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and dove 650, 650 feet deep.
